COMPLIANCE AND SYSTEMS

At Regener8, we focus on sustainability and quality – in our business, our relationships and our products. We deliver regulatory compliance and peace of mind to our partners.

We are committed to reducing electronic waste by driving sustainable business growth through innovative recycling strategies and business ethics. We operate in accordance with our principles of quality, integrity and transparency and take great pride in our corporate responsibility and being conscious of the impact of our operations.

Data Protection

Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)

  • As of 1 July 2020, the POPIA promotes the protection of personal information processed by public and private bodies within South Africa.
  • POPIA establishes minimum requirements for the processing of personal information.
  • Organisations that operate within South Africa are required to adopt POPIA regulations to become compliant.
  • Regener8, as data processor on behalf of their sourcing partners, is obligated to erase all personal data from received electronics according to POPIA regulations, in order for partners to be POPIA compliant.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

  • The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), implemented in May 2018, gives EU citizens more control over their personal data and how it is used.
  • The GDPR codifies and unifies data privacy and protection laws across all EU member countries.
  • Organisations that operate within the EU or that process EU citizens’ data are required to adopt GDPR regulations to become compliant.
  • Foxway, as data processor on behalf of their sourcing partners, is obliged to erase all personal data from received electronics according to GDPR regulations, in order for our partners to be GDPR compliant.

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Environmental Standards

The WEEE recycling directive requires that businesses ensure that waste products are treated correctly and meet recovery and recycling guidelines.

Our partner, Foxway, holds a waste processing license from the Estonian Environmental Board, which allows them to receive, process and resupply electronic waste in compliance with the EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE).

Second Hands Goods Act

We support our partners to meet the buy back requirement of the Second Hand Goods Act.

We manage waste streams directly for our partners. We are licensed to buy back and handle used electronic goods, enabling our partners to reliably outsource this part of their supply chain and its attendant regulatory burdens.

Integrated Management Systems and Continuous Improvement

Our goal is to be a customer-friendly, fast and reliable service provider of electronic equipment and waste collection, re-use and recovery centre.

Our guiding principles:

  • We provide our customers with high-quality products and services through the continuous development of people and work processes.
  • We work to reduce the negative environmental impact of our business activities and increase the positive environmental impact of our company through the reuse of equipment.
  • We create a safe and pleasant working environment for our employees to ensure delivery of the best results.
  • We value responsible business by monitoring legal and regulatory compliance within all our activities. Honesty and transparency in our relationships and data security are critical to us.
  • We believe in innovation  and we are always looking for ways to implement new technologies, methods and good  ideas from our team.
